OK. This is your average 1999 set list from dear old Rog, though I am a bit partial to it since I was present at this particular show. The video quality is pretty good, low-generation. However, what I really love about this video is that it corrects every criticism I usually have about audience shot videos. This one is a mix of three cameras ... two get close-ups (sometimes extreme close-ups) and mid-range shots, and one stays on a wide shot of Mr. Sheet the entire time. The camera that keeps this one shot of Mr. Sheet the entire time is entirely stationary, presumably sitting on the ground or a bench. The cameras that provide the closeups are thankfully steady, and amazingly, NONE of them are EVER obstructed by audience members. Thankfully, these people also know what to shoot, and whoever edited it knew what the hell they were doing.
Some cheesy effects are present (split-screen, overlays, freeze-frames), but not used heavily enough to be annoying. And while they're a little cheesy, how many audience-shot videos have this sort of thing going on? A short example to illustrate the usually excellent editing: during the second half of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," we stay with the stationary camera, showing the oil slide effects on Mr. Sheet during the ominous bass/synth portion. This fades to a shot of Doyle playing his solo, with the oil slide effects overlaid (it looks far better than it sounds) ... it stays there for awhile, then fades to a shot of Roger and Andy standing side by side in the shadows, grooving alongside each other in perfect synch ... then back to the wide shot as it winds down, fading to the appropriate vocalists during the rest of the song.
A bit long-winded, but really this is one of the most excellently edited audience-shot shows I've ever seen. Not the best performance Roger's 99/00 band ever turned out, but not bad by a long shot. Plus it has the songs missing from the 2000 'In The Flesh' DVD/VHS. I'd recommend it as the best video of the 1999 'In The Flesh' tour I've seen yet, and I'm not just saying that because I was there. Although I haven't seen that many vids from this tour, I can't imagine any being that much better.
