What we have here is a direct DVD conversion of the previously-reviewed 'The Omni - Atlanta, GA', with some source upgrades (in the case of 'Signs of Life', 'Dogs of War', 'On the Turning Away' and 'One Slip').
In the way of special features, we have a different edit of that night's performance of 'Dogs of War' (different segues, and more stock footage, hooray) and several backdrop films. 'Signs of Life' features Langley Iddens rowing serenely down the River Cam, looking at foliage and bugs, and shadowed by a mysterious naked man swimming under his boat. Not bad. 'Time' is the Ian Eames animated clock footage used from 1974-1989, available in better quality on 'Classic Albums : Dark Side of the Moon'. 'Welcome to the Machine' is, naturally, the nightmarish Gerald Scarfe animation we all know and love from 1987-1989 with the 'Flowering Orb' introduction re-attached and the music re-synched to match the live experience of those shows. It's reviewed by our pal ash` in 'Video Anthology 2'.
While this all sounds fine and dandy, the disc itself is eclipsed by Harvested's superior 'The Calhoun Tapes'. Unless you absolutely *must* have the 'Signs of Life' backdrop, the intro of 'Yet Another Movie', and the oh-so-exciting different edit of 'Dogs of War', opt for 'The Calhoun Tapes' instead.
