Wow, the first-ever DVD bootleg. And boy howdy does that help out in the video quality department (even if it has become a bit redundant since the release of 'David Gilmour - In Concert'. Shot from that mysterious bootlegging sweet spot, high up and on the right, the video is clear, the color vibrant, and the detail wonderful. The audio sounds great too (a little better than the CD-R versions, as it lacks the contrast between very quiet music and very loud audience.) However, sadly, the show is a little dull to watch ... lacking the eye candy of the average Floyd/Waters show, you're usually just looking at Dave, strumming away on his little stool. Musically it can also get monotonous at times, not because of any fault on the musicians' part, but just because that's the way all-acoustic shows can go. The only really irritating moments come when you're waiting for Gilmour to hurry up and grab his electric already. Otherwise, a pleasant-enough show boosted by sublime video and audio quality. There are also several amusing moments when Gilmour answers audience questions (i.e. "When's the next Floyd album??" "...Who gives a fuck ?" and such). All in all though, 99% of fans are better off with the official video of this show in the end and the only ones who really need to pick this up are the anoraks who want an unedited version
If you score one of the DVD copies (rather than the Video CD version) you also get bonus footage of "Comfortably Numb" from the rehearsals, and a quick meeting with Dave on the street ... he signs autographs and answers a few questions in his usual Gilmour-esque way, before some shrill woman runs out and starts screaming "OI, GO ON, GET OFF" and dragging Dave inside. Very entertaining.
